Kick-off Meeting Erzurum, Turkey

The Kick-off Meeting of the project „PLANETISE: Practical Learning for Action & Networking via an Educational Tool, Inspiring Study of Environment“ was successfully implemented on 24th May 2017 in Erzurum, Turkey.

KEAN – Cell of Alternative Youth Activities participates as partner in this project, which is coordinated by Ataturk University (Turkey) and is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union under the auspices of the Turkish National Agency “Center for European Union Education and Youth Programmes”.

The project is based on the methodology of the Educational Game “Planetbook” which has been developed and successfully implemented across Greece by KEAN aimed at increasing citizens’ and especially young’s people awareness for the environment, its significance and its conservation.

The core idea of the project “PLANETISE” is to transfer, further develop and implement an adapted and enriched version of the Educational Game “Planetbook” to more youth groups in 6 different European countries.

One of the aims of the project is to transfer this innovation and good practice to other EU countries, bringing an added value to the existing teaching and learning methods that are used by youth organizations which are active in the fields of Environment and Sustainable Development.

Alongside with the innovative educational tool, an E-Platform and an Online Network Community addressed to youth organizations are going to be created aiming at the development of an online community for further learning and exchange of knowledge regarding environmental challenges that are faced by each partner country.

The partner organizations of the consortium are coming from 6 different countries (Greece, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Romania and Portugal) and dispose substantial expertise in the fields of environmental education, sustainable development and non-formal education.

During the kick-off meeting each partner introduced himself and presented the partner organization. Additionally the coordinating organization Ataturk University presented the project’s activities , tasks and roles of partners, the timetable and the project’s results which will be achieved during next months.
